What is incredibly awesome? Well, that would be the description of the weather that has graced the Louisville area in the last week. The winter wonderland that was, is now just a memory and the various shades of 'golf course' green can be seen everywhere. Along with this great weather comes the responsibility of getting the golf course in shape for the season.
The golf course accessories have been refurbished and placed back out on the course. Early spring fertilization (including weed control) has been applied to most areas; sod work is in process, replacing or repairing thin areas; greens have been aerified and fairways have been mowed for the first time.
Trees are budding and beginning to flower however, it is still just a little too early for planting annuals. We are prepping beds and you will most likely see flowers closer to Derby.
As always, the Golf Course Operations Department strives to give the Hurstbourne Country Club members and their guests the best playing conditions. If you have a question about something you see us doing please feel free to call the office at 502-425-0160.
We hope to see you out on the course.
